Sunkissed Thoughts: The Perks of Being Single

Ok...this post topic isn't something I usually blog about

(usually my journal only hears these rants).

BUT...lately, the question of why I'm not in a relationship

or why I have been single for "quite some time" 

seems to have come up a lot more often than usual.

Now, I know that it is not unusual or so completely

unthought of to be 26 and unmarried or without a significant other;

but for some reason, it confuses a number of people.

So, with all this recent talk and questioning,

 I was beginning to feel like the Lone Ranger in a 

town of love struck, wedding ring wearing, baby making,

"I met the one" saying, wedding gift registering people.

Then, I stopped myself and said "WAIT! Is that really

what I would want to be doing right now?" 

My answer was: "It would be lovely if I found the right

person right now, but no, I'm happy just as I am!"

Therefore, in honor of all us bachelorettes and bachelors

(this list may seem to be geared towards girls, 

but guys can appreciate it as well, I'm sure),

I made a list of all the reasons why 

it's awesome, OK, wonderful, fun, exciting, just fine, 
or even better sometimes, to be SINGLE!

Maybe the grass isn't greener on the other side?

Note to the skeptics: I am in no way bashing, demeaning, or belittling

the institution of marriage or the beauty of falling in love.

Both are magical, wonderful and beautiful things and 

people who have found happiness with them 

are very lucky.

This is for those of us who haven't been hit with

Cupid's arrow yet, and can or have learned to be happy alone.

Sunkissed Sick Days: What's Making Me Feel Better

I HATE being sick. Well, who doesn't? 

But, I'm not one of those people

who really enjoys laying in bed all day, sipping soup and hot tea;

I just get bored too quickly.

So these last few days that I've been sick have been 

so annoying!

I know my body does need rest in

order to get better, but I might as well use my time wisely

and write a little something 

about what has been making me happy lately.

First off, this is the beautiful evening view I'm enjoying from 

my bedroom window.

As I've mentioned before, I love Swell! 

And since summer is coming to an end, 

they're having great sales! 

I figured I'd take advantage of the lower prices and 

make a big order; online shopping always makes me feel better...

I'm so happy with everything I got!

My new Nixon Forest Fedora! I have a big head,
so I was excited to find a fedora that actually fit!
Everyone's been calling me Indiana Jones...whatever..
I guess I just need to find a whip now.

Summer Heart: This album is amazing, the chill 

electro-dream-pop tunes and soothing vocals 

have become my end of summer go-to music.

I love scarves like this, because they can be used to
brighten up an outfit as an actual scarf, OR you can use
it as a headwrap, headband, or even a bikini cover-up.
I always love purple and orange together; and with the
tribal design going on, you can't lose - no 
matter how you wear it!
